The world’s wired and wireless Communicate Semiconductor market leader Broadcom (Broadcom) Company (Nasdaq: BRCM) today announced that this year the Chinese telecom service providers and equipment manufacturers to launch a new gigabit passive optical network (GPON) Integrated Access Device (IAD ) semiconductor chips. BroadcomBCM6800 Series GPON gateway processor used to implement a more affordable, and service provider networks with the use of optical network terminals (ONT) or Optical Network Unit (ONU). Therefore, the use of BroadcomBCM6800 series gateway processor service providers will be able to take advantage of greater bandwidth to provide multiple services, such as quality Triple play Business HD (HD) video, gaming, wireless and VoIP, to support FTTH applications and light to the node.

You see, what drivers do are communicate with your computer and help it to be able to tell the difference between all of the various devices you are trying to use.
